When the pressure increases, your mindset matters.

KILCUNDA-BASS FNC X INNER EDGE MINDSET

CASE STUDY

PERFORMING UNDER PRESSURE
Athlete Mental Performance Workshop

Client: Kilcunda-Bass Football Netball Club
Audience: A & B Grade athletes and coaches
Focus: Managing pressure, anxiety & competition mindset

The Challenge

With finals approaching, Kilcunda-Bass FNC wanted to give their athletes practical tools to better manage the mental demands of competition.

Performing in finals can bring increased pressure, nerves and expectations — and athletes need more than physical preparation to perform at their best.

The session was designed to help athletes understand what happens under pressure and, more importantly, what they can do about it.

The Workshop

The session explored practical mental performance strategies to help athletes:

  • Understand and manage competition anxiety

  • Respond more effectively to pressure

  • Build confidence before and during competition

  • Recognise unhelpful thinking patterns

  • Develop practical strategies they could apply immediately

  • Take greater ownership of their mindset and performance

Rather than simply talking about mindset, the workshop focused on tools athletes could actually take onto the court and into competition.

The Impact

The feedback highlighted the value of making mental performance practical, relatable and applicable beyond sport.

“Megan delivered a fantastic session that was both informative and inspiring. She was extremely knowledgeable and relatable, which made the session easy to connect with and really enjoyable.”

“She encouraged us to think differently, challenge our usual way of thinking and look outside the box.”

“The information she provided wasn’t just relevant to sport but also gave us valuable ideas and tools that can be used in everyday life.”

“I took away lots of positive ideas from the session and definitely have things I can put into practice both on and off the court.”
